Project VOYCE Summer Academy
As a sophomore in high school, there were many issues that I was passionate about, but I didn't have the language to call out the inadequacies that I witnessed in my day-to-day life. It was then when a loving teacher introduced me to the work that Project VOYCE does and encouraged me to join their summer academy. Little did I know how that decision would forever benefit my life. Not only was I able to meet other young people that were just as passionate about social justice as I was, but my wonderful facilitators were able to help me gain the skills and confidence in order to be a leader within my community. Equipped with skills in communication and community organizing, I have lobbied elected officials, testified on behalf of bills that I wanted to see through, and even obtained a job where it all first started.. Project VOYCE! Having been through the program myself, I would highly recommend this to all young people!
